The Sarah Palin conundrum

Okay, so there are many of them.  But this one, pointed out by one of my favorite pastors and bloggers, Ken Wilson, shows the conundrum facing many of Palin’s most conservative Christian followers.  How can they support her for president yet still hold the belief that women can’t pastor a church…….

A head shaking moment, to be sure. Head over to his blog and see what I mean.

This is a very biblical belief for many people, Baptist, Catholics, etc. I have seen many successful relationships with people that respect this belief. I have also seen unsuccessful relationships that believe that equality in marriage can be defined by the world. I find my relationships are much more successful when I have respect for each belief. How can I do this? The answer is I only have to work on my own relationships good or bad and not take on the responsibity of others. It’s called unconditional love. Sara Palin has shown more of that than anyone I know in the political arena. Sometimes is takes courage to be bold, she has that boldness. I wish she was running for President because she is so comfortable in her skin and is not bought and paid for by Washington D.C The data shows each congressional representative to have an average of 70 lobbiest pulling their chains. I am mad as hell and want someone to be accountable!

When exactly has Sarah Palin shown unconditional love? When she was using taxpayer money to hire contractors to build her house? When she was using her position as governor to her own benefit? When she lied about having sold a plane on eBay? When she used private e-mail accounts so she couldn’t be publicly held accountable for things she did as governor? Maybe she’s showing unconditional love when people at her rallies scream about killing Obama and she just smiles and goes on.
You’re right about one thing: Palin hasn’t been bought and paid for by Washington. She’s only interested in serving herself. Take your idiotic and uninformed lectures somewhere else. Maybe you belong in Alaska yourself. You and Palin and her husband can join the Alaska Secessionist Party since you don’t seem to like the United States.

Oh my! Sarah Palin is a model politician. Despite that view I agree that women should be allowed leadership roles in any arena.

The Bible does not specifically denounce women from holding leadership positions i.e. Deborah, the Judge. It does however condemn the men for being weak or immoral, forcing women to have to lead them. I believe many women look for a strong man morally, who is self-driven, though not some overbearing “Me man, You woman” idiot. Sarah Palin, if she is what she projects herself to be is a great candidate and I wish her well.
