First, let me congratulate Al Gore on his being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his work on Global Climate change. I am enjoying watching others recognize the gifts he possesses, realizing what a jewel we lost. Realizing what kind of president we could have had, instead of voting for someone who entertained us. Our loss, his gain! As disappointed as I am in our president, I have to be honest and realize that Al Gore could never have made the movie he did, or have the influence he does if he was President, chained to a political system that requires a daily tightrope walk. The freedom from that system has allowed him to be a bigger long term influence on world culture than he would have been as President.
Now, on to the deals.
This week, I began a love affair–with Target. I’ve discovered that they not only have grocery coupons on their website, but they allow you to combine their coupons with manufacturer coupons, meaning that many products this week were either free or at least greatly reduced. Some examples–Toaster Strudels for $1.59, after coupons, for 2 cents. Goldfish crackers $1.33, after coupons, for 35 cents. Betty Crocker boxed potatoes $1.29, after coupons, for 25 cents. Those are just some examples. . As always, you can find lots of discussion about this at Slickdeals on their Target board. There are lovely men and women there ready to share all their tricks of the trade–and the latest free deal!
While you’re printing out coupons, why not head over to ToysRUs and pick up a free toy? With this coupon you can get a free Hot Wheels car or Littlest Pet Shop Animal–no purchase necessary. Valid until 10/13.
Fan of Satellite Radio? Try XM for three months free and free activation, with code XMSCION03. There are no obligations, no credit card on file. You will not be billed after that. If you like it and want to stay, or already have XM for $12.95 a month, call and ask for the $77 a year deal, using code ZWINBACK. You may have to threaten to cancel, but the deal exists and they are authorized to give it out.
If you buy a lot of diapers, head over to your local Walgreens, armed with Pampers coupons, and look for the clearance on Feel N Learn diapers. They are clearanced for $5.50 a pack–with the standard $2 off coupon, you can get a pack of diapers for $3.50, a $5 savings off normal price. Sure, Feel N Learns and Easy Ups aren’t as convenient as Pull Ups (they don’t have the resealable sides) but they are decent and a great price! Target has Luvs coupons on their website and Luvs had a coupon in last week’s paper–meaning you could get $3 off a package of Luvs too.
If I find anymore, I’ll add them to the list. All in all I’ve come home this week with $200 of food and other household needs for $40. Enjoy the savings!
