Arming Sunnis in Iraq

One story I want to comment on from the Washington Post, on the fact that we are now arming Sunni radicals who once were blowing up our soldiers, so that they may now blow up Al-Qaeda instead.  Now, I know most of you are pretty smart, so you can see the reason why this announcement has Miss Know it All’s blood boiling.  Surely, you all say, the Bush Administration isn’t that idiotic.  Evidently, they are.  Evidently, they haven’t learned from their own mistakes, or those of their predecessors.  Do they not remember how Al Qaeda and Saddam gained firepower in the first place?  Oh, that’s right, it was because WE armed them!  We believed that the enemy of our enemy was our friend.  Only, once Sadaam finished fighting Iran, and Bin Laden finished fighting Russia, they turned those weapons on us!   For once, I’m pretty much speechless.  I can’t even find the words to describe the stupidity of this move!  All I can say is, January 2009 and a new president can’t come fast enough.  Hopefully, desperately hoping, that Bush will not have done as much damage as it looks like he’s done.
