More Politics in the Justice Department

Not that its any surprise, mind you.  But it seems that the Bush administration has been playing hard and loose with the rules and ethics in many more places than we knew.  The Washington Post has investigated and found that the administration has been appointing GOP friendly judges to the immigration courts, regardless of their experience, or lack thereof.  In fact, a couple of the new immigration judges were former nominees for the tax courts, but were found to be unqualified for the tax courts, so over to the immigration courts they went.  One such nominee was found to have fudged on his taxes!  The policy must be, “Be a friend of ours (meaning give us money) and we’ll find you a cushy job.  Don’t worry, if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.’  Literally.

No wonder no one in Congress has any respect for the administration anymore.  The number of Bushie loyals is dwindling by the day!

I understand one qualified individual was turned down for a job in the Justice Department solely on the basis that he’d voted for McCain. Granted McCain hasn’t been Bush’s biggest supporter, but he is a fellow Republican. Apparently not even that is enough!
