*&!!$%^!!! GAS!!!

Let me share a story from the past week in the Know it All household.  Tuesday evening Mr Know it All was driving home, cursing the gas companies, as gas prices had risen yet again and his tank was quickly approaching empty.  Miss Know it All had been watching the evening news (local news, its a rarity because it drives me insane), and had seen a gas station across town offering the low, low price of $3.09.  Every other station was racing to raise their price to $3.49.  Miss Know it All checked the coupon box and sure enough, they had $4 worth of coupons for that very gas station!

So the whole Know it All family loaded in the car and drove 30 minutes east to the magical Meijer gas station that promised cheap gas.  The little Know it Alls in the back seat began to whine and complain as we sat in long lines waiting to fill our tank.  Mr Know it All was cursing again, watching the gas station beginning to change the price on the sign.  Miss Know it All, being very competitive, was watching each line and barking orders at Mr Know it All to move lanes if one was moving faster than another.  It was a lovely evening.

We pull up to a pump and dash out, finding they were sold out of Regular and Plus.  Yet they were offering Premium at $3.09!  We began filling up as quickly as we could before they could rise the price at the pump.  As Mr Know it All was removing the pump from the gas tank, a loud groan and cry went up around the station.  They’d shut down the tanks!  All around, those who were not finished were forced to pay for their current pump, and return to pump at the new low, low price of $3.50!  One poor soul had gotten 3 cents of gas before they shut off the tanks.   The Know it Alls promptly thanked God for getting us in just in the nick of time, and Mr Know it All took the coupons to pay for the gas.  All in all, we were thrilled to have bought gas at $2.64.

I hope you catch the dripping sarcasm, because in January gas was $2.19!!! 

Bloody Gas Companies…..
