What a whirlwind week of headlines its been!  Missed them?  Below are some of the top links to stories you might have missed.

 In general, notice that the Democrats are getting bolder and bolder, as the White House grips tighter and tighter to its control of the country.  They know the time is coming…  And I know that I made a comment about Gonzales not leaving because of his old connection with Bush, but there’s something more important at stake for this White House.  If Gonzales goes, its an admission they were wrong.  Losing Rumsfeld was one thing, but losing the Attorney General, well, that will start a tidal wave of investigations that will lead to the loss of any remaining power they have.  The tidal wave is coming anyway, but holding onto Gonzales is like plugging the failing levies–they have to try.  The Democrats are working hard to rapidly restore their Congressional oversight powers, something that was woefully lacking in the GOP-led Congress.  Expect to see investigation after investigation as their confidence and success grows.

    How could the President of the United States watch Gonzales’ testimony and say he is more committed to him than ever!? I’m beginning to wonder if Gonzales doesn’t have some pictures or something Bush doesn’t want anyone to see;-) Leading Republicans have lost faith in Gonzales, for heaven’s sake! What does it take? Is this the most stubborn,hard-headed person ever?
